Red Cedar Gala
|
On Saturday May 7th, Ms. Chau and four students attended the Red Cedar Gala at the Vancouver Public Library, where we got to meet the authors, watch special presentations by the authors and students from across B.C. There were over 200 people in attendance. The winner for the Non Fiction category was "If: A mind bending new way of looking of big ideas and numbers" and the winner of the Fiction category was "Finding Grace".
Here are some photos that we managed to capture |
The Red Cedar Book Award is BC’s young readers’ choice award for students in grades 4 through 7. It was launched by the Young Readers’ Choice Awards Society of BC in 1996 to encourage children to read, develop their ability to judge the quality of published works and create an awareness of the works of Canadian authors and illustrators. Each year, 2 awards are given – 1 in the fiction category and 1 in the information book category.
